This is a psalm that made it into Psalms in bits and pieces (look at Psalm 18:2), but it is a powerful paean of praise to a God who protects. From the moment Samuel appeared to anoint him, David saw great victories from God, a couple of personal failures, and consistent, constant, ongoing enemies who never stopped pursuing him - every day. He knew what it meant to run to the Rock and take refuge. This is not just poetry, but the cry of a heart that was deeply in need of God's protection.
Today’s Reading - 2 Samuel 22
And David spoke to the Lord the words of this song on the day when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. 2 He said,
“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,

Praise the Lord
Of course, God hears your private prayers and your praise, but there is a blessing that comes when you voice your praise for others to hear. "Extol the Lord." That's what the Bible says. The comments are open if you wish to give God praise and thanksgiving that might bless us all.
