Do you have what it takes to be successful in the eyes of God, in the work of God? We make that such a complicated thing in Christian world today. One must have great talent, deep knowledge, skills and expertise. We've made Christian service a maze which one must navigate.

It's really much more simple than that. Certainly there are skills that can help us in the work, but at the root, at the core, is one simple characteristic. Faithfulness. 1 Corinthians 4:2 says,
"In this regard, it is expected of managers that each one of them be found faithful."
We are stewards of God's gifts and our duty is to simply be faithful to God and to the work he has given us. We must be steadfast in our commitment to him, loyal to the work of his kingdom. Remember Romans 12:1. God didn't ask for our talents or abilities, but simply our bodies as sacrifices, given completely to his service.

Regardless of how talented we might or might not be, how much we have, or don't have, by way of resources, may we be faithful to him in all things.

Father, whatever else, may you find me faithful!

(I am sorry for the brevity and simplicity of this post. With last night's storm and the following clean up and several hours without power at our house, this was all I was able to do. I will try to do better tomorrow.)
